Fred Bullen has won awards for his works in local area exhibitions and many are currently displayed in galleries in Forster, Taree and Port Macquarie.
His most recent works have been described as having been executed “by an artist who has developed his own style based on an intuitive execution. The suburban landscape is rendered with an almost photographic naturalism; but the use of bright colours, ambiguous and distorted perspectives, and strange juxtapositions suggest an imagined or dreamed reality”.
His inspiration comes from the local area and the urban landscape which are then reproduced in traditional or one of many styles such as ‘abstract realism’.

Suzanne Li, a self taught Australian Artist, was born in 1958 in Condobolin, a small farming town in mid western NSW. Though born in the Central West, most of her growing years were spent in the Riverina region of NSW, along the banks of the Murrumbidgee river. Much of her adult life was spent in Cairns, far north Queensland raising a family and running a busy restaurant. During this time Suzanne and her family also spent a wonderful year living in Hong Kong.
Throughout her life though her constant companion has been her pencils and sketch pad that were never far from reach.
This exhibition showcases Suzanne's distinctive style which is greatly inspired by the picturesque Australian landscape and expresses the subjects with great attention to detail. She loves to portray the birds and animals in the bush, and more recently she has tried her hand at still life.
Jill Cairns is exhibiting with Innes Artists, and we invite all to join us in August. Jill is a mark making artist, who works with oils and pastels and loves to talk art. Innes Artists all have individual styles and subjects to create a visual feast. We have held previous exhibitions in this beautiful South West Rocks Community Art Gallery, the Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery and in the Glasshouse in Port Macquarie. We are all members of the Hastings Valley Art Society and many have won awards. Leading into spring, come and celebrate our works.
The Rocks Painters Group meet every Wednesday to paint, laugh and share.
